For all who read this response I hope you will come and visit Mary jo and I at the CIDER HOUSE CAFE, AND I WILL TELL YOU THE REST OF THE STORY.

Why would you want to battle throngs of people when trying to escape to the mountains to pick apples? This orchard is off the beaten path, down a little country road, nestled beneath an old church on a hill. Wander amongst the trees without bumping elbows or feeling like herded cattle. Experience an orchard and the mountains of north georgia as it is meant to be experienced.

Everything about visiting these orchards was wonderful. Cafe had homemade food, with awesome people. We met the family owners of the orchards. Best experience if you want a true apple orchard farm.

Very nice people, gorgeous apples and a great variety. We ate in their little cafe/restaurant and the food was really good. Enjoyed our trip there.

I like this place because my wife and I started our lives together 54 years ago on this property. There was nothing there but forest and dirt. I was 17 and Mary Jo was 15. We built us a home and started our lives together. We purchased the 20 acres with money I had saved shinning shoes from the time I was 10 till about 16 years old. Decided to plant a few Apple trees and began to sell the apples. I met Mary jo when I shined shoes on the corner street . Mary jo was eight and I was 10. We were sweet hearts.i purchased a 57 Chevy and we dated a while and got married.we raised 3 children and have had a blessed life and the journey has been wonderful.the reason I am writing is because of a review someone wrote about our restaurant. I had to smile as I read the review that was so critical of our humble abode.if they only knew of the history of mountain view orchards.would not change a thing. I am now 72 and Mary jo is 70

Soon we will make that great crossing where there is no keeping of time and a land of uncloudy day.

We were there Wednesday, Oct. 11. I had chosen this orchard because of it's great reviews. When we arrived that afternoon, the place looked abandoned. Not a person in the place. Fox news blaring. Shelves mostly empty. A sign saying to leave money in a jar. Finally, as we were leaving, the owner drove up. The whole thing was unsettling and creepy. I would suggest calling to make sure someone is there before going.
